# Micro-UX study specification

Purpose: isolate whether yield-only earlier paint improves task completion and perceived control.

Conditions:
1. Blocking: all work before first paint.
2. Semantic yield: meaningful visual state first, same work after yield.
3. Cosmetic yield: cosmetic spinner/flash first, same work after yield.
4. Real-work reduction: meaningful first response plus reduced work.

Tasks:
- Accept consent and continue reading.
- Open navigation menu and choose destination.
- Filter product list.
- Add product to cart.
- Submit form field and resolve validation.

Primary outcomes:
- Semantic completion time.
- Task success/error.
- Next-action delay.
- Perceived responsiveness.
- Perceived control.

Model:
- Mixed-effects regression with participant and task random intercepts.
- Fixed effects for condition, task class, device class, and order.
- Pre-register condition 2 vs 1 and condition 3 vs 1 as primary comparisons.
