Newsletter
Web performance, once a month.
The smallest standing commitment on this site. One email a month — what we learned adjudicating real PageSpeed reports, what the research turned up, and what actually changed in Chrome's metrics. No sequence to finish, nothing to install.

What turns up in it
- Adjudications worth generalising. When a PageSpeed warning turns out to be wrong for a whole class of site — not just one — that's worth an email.
- New research, when there is any. Our published studies ship with their data and their method; the newsletter is how you hear one exists.
- Metric changes that move the goalposts. Chrome's Core Web Vitals definitions and thresholds do change, and a change can move your score without you touching anything.
- New free tools. The tools are ungated and stay that way; the list is simply the first to know.
Nothing is written to fill a slot. A month with nothing worth sending is a month with no email.
Two other ways to hear from us
The newsletter is open-ended and general. If you want something with an end, or something about your own site, these are better:
- The five-day email course — how to read a PageSpeed report the way an auditor does, one short email a day for five days, every number drawn from our published worked example. Then it stops.
- The Core Web Vitals watch — your site's real-user baseline today and the day-28 verdict by email. Two emails, about one URL: yours.
Each is a separate opt-in, and taking one does not sign you up for the others.
